UNC Charlotte's Admissions form allows students to self-identify their gender. There are only two options in the gender drop box ("Male" and "Female") and the question is required in order for the application to be complete. However, students can self-identify and will not be penalized for choosing a gender they identify with even if it does not match the gender on their social security card or driver's license.
